PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet feeder and an image forming apparatus having it, which can be reduced in the size without occurrence of a sheet jam and a sheet damage in a reversing passage. SOLUTION: Sheets 5, 5a fed by a paper sheet feed means 12 are separated one by one by a separating claw 13 provided on the front end corner part in the paper sheet feed direction of sheets 5 stored in a sheet storing means 9, and the sheet 5a separated one by one by the separation claw 13 is guided to a reversing passage 14 by a guide part 20a provided on the upstream side end part of a reversing passage 14. Further, the guide part 20a is a continuous curved surface, and a recessed part 20b is formed in a portion where the front end corner part of the sheet 5a caught by the separating claw 13 is passed.
