PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a woven fabric for an uncoated air bag excellent in compactness, having a low METSUKE (mass per unit area) and a low air permeability and further excellent in economical efficiency. SOLUTION: This woven fabric for an air bag comprises a thermoplastic filament woven fabric and has <=2.0 distribution of pore diameter of pores, i.e., the pore distribution in the pores formed of the constituent filaments and <=2.5 L/cm2/min air permeability under 20 kPa differential pressure. The pore distribution is defined by PD=(FDmax-FDmin)/FDave [FDmax is the maximum pore size (μm); FDmin is the minimum pore size (μm); FDave is the average flow-rate pore size (μm)].
