PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming apparatus which enables a carriage to scan and move at high speed and highly accurately by improving a durability of a slide face in a simple constitution at a low cost. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a first guide rail 16 to which one end part of a carriage 14 is slidably engaged, a second guide rail 17 which is set in parallel to the first guide rail 16 and against which the other end part of the carriage 14 slidably butts, an elastically deformable slide guide sheet 21 which is set to the second guide rail 17 and against which the other end part of the carriage 14 slidably butts, and moment application means 19, 20, 22 and 23 for applying a moment to bring the slide guide sheet 21 into tight contact with a surface of the second guide rail 17 to both end parts in a longitudinal direction of the slide guide sheet 21. |
