PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use smoke generated in the production of charcoal for the sterilization, insecticidal treatment and improvement of soil and the promotion of the growth of plants. SOLUTION: An iron drum is closed with a curved lid placed on the top of the drum. A delivery port for charging raw material and discharging produced charcoal is opened on the drum, a firing port is opened at the top, a smoke exhaustion port is opened at the lower part of the drum and a castable refractory is applied to the inner face of the drum to obtain a charcoal kiln 20. The smoke 21 generated from the kiln 20 is supplied through a flue 24 to a horticultural house 22 to smoke the soil 23 and the crop and perform the sterilization, insecticidal treatment and improvement of soil and the promotion of plant growth. |
