The present invention is concerned with a topical light screening compositi on comprising a) about 1wt% to 30wt% of a linear or cyclic polysiloxane compound of the general formula Ia or Ib, <IMGS> wherein X signifies R or A; A signifies a group of the general formula IIa, IIb or IIc; <IMGS> and wherein n, r, s, t and v and the R-symbols have the meaning given in the specification; and b) about 0.5wt% to about 15wt% of a tocopherol compound.
