PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide rail that can be aligned in a straight line without the necessity of troublesome adjustment work. SOLUTION: This guide rail is provided with first and second guide rail portions 22, 26 capable of being connected with or disconnected from each other at a separation point 42. The first and second guide rail portions 22, 26 can be aligned in a straight line at the separation point. A roof that can be opened is provided slidably such that it can slide beyond the separation point. The first guide rail portion 22 is provided with a positioning mechanism or the positioning mechanism is fixed to the first guide rail portion. The positioning mechanism works cooperatively with a complementary mating mechanism, and the mating mechanism is formed on or fastened to the second guide rail portion 26. The first and/or second guide rail portions are flexibly supported by a roof portion 12 of a vehicle 10 at the separation point.
