METHOD FOR PRODUCING DEGRADABLE POLYESTER

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing degradable polyester, comprising ketone group imparting photodegradability and a number of aliphatic ester bonds excellent in biodegradability, as well as having high molecular weight and sufficient strength. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) polycondensing a compound containing 0.01-5 mole% of ketone component, selected from a mixture of at least one dicarbonic acid selected from aliphatic dicarbonic acid having C8 or less and ketone dicarbonic acid of general formula 1, with at least one diol selected from aliphatic dicarbonic acid having C8 or less and keton dicarbonic acid of general formula 2, to form polyester having ketonic group with a number average molecular weight of 4,000 or more, and (ii) adding diisocyanate to the molten polyester and reacting them with each other to form polyester with a number average molecular weight of 10,000 or more.
