A uni-polar drive motor has a cage rotor (5) rigidly joined with the inner wheel bearing bracket in the radial magnetic field generated by the stator (2).The drive wheel (1) is supported on two roller bearings to be found in the wheel hub on the axle together with the rotor. The stator possesses two excitation windings. The main excitation winding (6) is fed with constant voltage. The additional excitation winding (7) is in series with the cage rotor winding. Uni-polar drive motor consists of double cylinder stator and tubular rotor. Outer and inner cylinders of stator are monolithic. Outer cylinder of stator has magnetic core built-in.
