The invention relates to a wiper blade for cleaning vehicle windscreens comprising a wiper strip (12) supported by a carrier bracket system. Said wiper strip is surrounded by a protective profile (14, 22, 24 ) that is closed on the sides. According to the invention, the protective profile is closed by a cover (16, 18, 20) in longitudinal direction at least on one end, said cover serving to open and close the protective profile (14, 22).
