Support pillar and platform for radiological scanning unit

The scanning system, e.g. an X-ray scanner, has a main support column (2) with replaceable plates held by clips. The top of the column houses a display (3) of coordinates and image status. A carriage (7) is mounted on the column and has a bracket (9) supporting the bucky (5). The bucky can be rotated on a hinge (13) over 180 degrees. Coupling arms (10) allow the bucky to be moved into an angled position.
