A resin-bond type optical element comprising a preform and a resin layer formed on the preform surface and consisting of a photosensitive-resin-composition cured material, wherein the resin layer has (1) a refractive index of at least 1.55, (2) a visible light inner transmittance of at least 95% in a 100 mu m thick area, (3) a hygroscopic dimension change rate of up to 0.4%, (4) a durometer hardness of at least HDD 70, (5) a gel percentage of at least 95%, (6) a glass transition temperature of at least 95 DEG C or (7) a shrinkage on curing of up to 7%; a production method for the element, and an optical article provided with the element.
