This invention relates to a sports field, consisting of layers of material of a distinguishing kind and/or composition lying on each other, the top layer comprising a mixture of pumice and sand. Such a sports field is used for purposes of sports and/or leisure. In the top layer according to this invention pumice having a dry bulk density of 400 to 900 kg/m<3> is used. It is preferred here that the percentage by volume of pumice is in the range of 50 to 75 %. The advantage of said top layer is a high drainage capacity and high structure stability of the sports field resulting in a high playing durability and a low burden to the environment. |
