PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow one system to remotely control a device independently of a manufacturer and a kind of a house electric appliance. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a unit 9 that incorporates a computer storing remote control software programs for each manufacturer and for each house electric appliance, an infrared ray transmission unit 8 that transmits a remote control signal to each house electric appliance, and a terminal 7 that remotely controls each house electric appliance. The remote control software program consists of a terminal operation software program to control the terminal 7 that remotely controls each house electric appliance and of an infrared ray unit software program to control the infrared ray transmission unit 8 on the basis of the operation of the terminal operation software. The computer receives a remote control software request command from the operation terminal 7, processes the operation terminal software in a transmission enable way to the operation terminal 7 on request and processes the infrared ray unit software program in a way of transmission enable way to the infrared ray transmission unit 8.
