PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the falling-off and scattering of the catalyst of packing elements even if the mutual contact or collision of the packing elements due to the movement of the packing elements is generated in a catalyst packed bed comprising a large number of the packing elements having the catalyst supported thereon and to enhance the reutilization ratio of the catalyst and the cleaning efficiency of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: In an exhaust gas treatment apparatus wherein a large number of packing elements 1 having a catalyst 12 supported thereon are housed in a packing space to constitute a catalyst packed bed and exhaust gas is guided to this packed bed to be brought into contact therewith to be cleaned by cleaning action such as dust removal, denitrification, desulfurization or the like, each of the packing elements 1 is obtained by forming a non-contact region not coming into contact with other packing element in a strength material 11 having predetermined strength and supporting the catalyst on at least the non-contact region and, even if the packing elements come into contact with each other or collide mutually, the catalyst 12 is certainly supported without being allowed to fall off. |
