PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having an excellent reflection preventing property extending over a wide wavelength range in the visible ray region. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device utilizes a composite polarizing plate made by laminating a polarizing film, a half-wave plate and a quarter- wave plate in this order, having 10-20 deg. angle between the absorption axis of the polarizing film and the slow axis of the half-wave plate inside the film surface, having 55-65 deg. angle between the slow axis of the half-wave plate inside the film surface and the slow axis of the quarter-wave plate inside the film surface and having the slow axis of the half-wave plate placed between the absorption axis of the polarizing film and the slow axis of the quarter-wave plate. |
