PRODUCTION OF BLAST FURNACE WATER GRANULATED SLAG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for production of blast furnace granulated slag capable of lowering the concentration of the fluorine eluted from the blast furnace granulated slag. SOLUTION: The concentration of the fluorine of cooling water used for cooling the slag in a water granulation treatment in the process for producing the granulated slag by subjecting the molten slag generated at the time of production of molten iron in a blast furnace always satisfies the equation: 0<= (the concentration of the fluorine in the cooling water [mg/l])<=(-7/0.08)×(the content of the fluorine in the slag [%])+14. The concentration of the fluorine in the cooling water used for cooling the slag in the water granulation treatment is preferably so managed as to fall below a reference value.
