PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously view the optional number of pictures in optional layout (arrangement and size) in a short time. SOLUTION: This picture display device is provided with a storing and display means 10 such as a spatial optical modulation element for storing a projected picture and displaying the stored picture, projection means (13, 15, 3, 7, 8 and 9) for projecting the picture to the means 10, display information input means 24, 25 and 26 for inputting information to display plural pictures all together on the means 10, and a control means (CPU) controlling the projection means in order to store plural pictures in the means 10 according to the information inputted by the display information input means.
