The invention relates to a method for receiving a fax, where according to the invention an incoming fax call is transferred to an Internet operator (200) for reception. In the inventive solution, the Internet operator (200) is arranged to save the faxes directed from the user's (400) telephone subscription (100) in his or her personal electronic mailbox (300). Faxes in the user's mailbox (300) may be processed into a plurality of information storage formats either by the Internet operator (200) or by the user (400) or someone authorized by the user. In processing the faxes both the user (400) and the person authorized by the user, such as a secretary, may use services offered by the Internet operator (200). Processed or unprocessed faxes may be re-sent to various recipients by the Internet operator (200) or by the user (400) and/or someone authorized by the user via a telephone network (150) or Internet (500). |
