PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the decibel level of an audible sound signal to be generated by distributing a characteristic audible sound signal to a selecting device connected to a LAN. SOLUTION: When a fire alarm system 32 detects a fire, the system 32 generates a characteristic audible sound signal. The electric representation of the audible sound signal generated by the system 32 is transmitted to a telephone set 22, a television set 24 a computer 26, an electronic oven 28 and a washing and drying machine 30, these devices interpret an electric signal, and the system 32 generates the representation of the audible sound signal showing that the fire is detected through a LAN. Thus, it is possible to reduce the decibel level of an audible sound signal to be generated and also to obtain wide coverage with the entire environment.
