MASTOCYTE SURFACE ANTIGEN, DNA CODING FOR THE SAME, AND ANTIBODY AGAINST THE ANTIGEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new mastocyte surface antigen which contains a specific amino acid sequence, and is useful for specifically detecting and isolating a mastocyte playing the main role in the condition formation of allergic diseases such as bronchial asthma and cryptomeria pollenosis and so on. SOLUTION: This is a new mastocyte surface antigen which contains the amino acid sequence represented by the formula or an amino acid sequence which is substantially the same as the sequence, is useful for elucidating a physiological function of and specifically detecting and isolating a mastocyte which is considered to be playing the main role in the condition formation of allergic diseases such as bronchial asthma and cryptomeria pollenosis, and is useful for treating allergic diseases. This mastocyte surface antigen is obtained by isolating a mastocyte from an umbilical cord blood monocyte, extracting mRNA from a cell extract from the mastocyte, preparing a cDNA library from the mRNA, carrying out the immunoscreening using an antiserum, incorporating the obtained gene into an expression vector, followed by transducing the obtained vector into a host cell for expression.
