PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reactive power compensator which facilitates various operations for state setting and display confirmation work and enables detail setting and display. SOLUTION: A reactive power compensator controls a reactive power injected into a distribution line 13 in accordance with the voltage fluctuation of the distribution line 13 to stabilize the voltage of the distribution line 13. A dialog- type operation panel 28 is connected to the control means 20 of an inverter 23 which generates a reactive power via a sequenser 27 and operations for state setting and state display are performed via the dialog-type operation panel 28.
