PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical attenuating fiber assembly capable of correctly imparting a fixed quantity of optical attenauation value even if an optical attenuating fiber is used. SOLUTION: This optical attenuating fiber assembly is composed of the optical attenuating fiber 9 having the length for imparting a desired attenuating quantity, the usual optical fiber 10 connected to one end of the optical attenuating fiber 9 by welding, the first ferrule 16 receiving and fixing the tip end of the optical attenuating fiber 9, the second ferrule 20 receiving and fixing the tip end of the usual optical fiber 10 connected to one end of the optical attenuating fiber 9 by welding, and the aligning sleeve 19 aligning and fixing the first ferrule 16 and the second ferrule 20. |
