PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device that controls a stack stop so that twofold bunches of discharged sheets may stack in order on a discharge tray. SOLUTION: When stacked on a discharge tray 246, a twofold bunch Po of discharged sheets is brought into the position where its leading edge butts against a stack stop 252. The standing of the stack stop 252 is changed depending upon the size and number of the sheets bunched; it is, for larger-size sheets, positioned farther from a pair of paper discharge rollers. Defective stacking is thus prevented where, by way of example, a bunch Po of sheets being discharged slides into or under bunches Po of discharging sheets previously stacked up.
