PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To load a large number of sheets on an upper ejection sheet loading means. SOLUTION: This sheet ejection device has a large number of sheet discharge ports which are arranged vertically to eject sheets. The device is provided with a shutter 613 and an upper ejection sheet loading means 700. The shutter 613, capable of elevating to open and close a lower sheet ejection port 611, holds the lower sheet ejection port 611 in the opened state being always energized in an elevating direction. The upper ejection sheet loading means 700, capable of elevating and lowering loads the sheets ejected from an upper sheet ejection port 618. When the upper ejection sheet loading means 700 lowers the lower sheet ejection port 611, the upper ejection sheet loading means 700 pressed down the shutter 613, which closes the lower sheet ejection port 611.
