PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing frozen dessert, which can accurately detect an abnormality such as poor cooling of mix in a cooling cylinder and alarm it. SOLUTION: When stopping the cooling of a cooling cylinder 8 on the basis of a defined temperature fall speed of mix in the cooling cylinder 8, which is calculated based on outputs of a cylinder sensor and a current sensor, an alarm means is actuated in the case that a flowing current in a beater motor 12 does not increase up to a defined set value.
