PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition for topical application by including one of L-arginine, an L-arginine analog or derivatives thereof (or any of salts thereof) as an endogenous precursor of nitric oxide radicals. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including at least one compound represented by formula I (R1 is H, OH, or the like bound with a peptide bond; R2 is OH, an amine, or the like bound with the peptide bond; (n) is 3 or 4) which is at least any one of L-arginine, an L-arginine analog or derivatives thereof or salts thereof together with a cosmetically acceptable excipient. For example, the compound represented by formula I is N-acetyl-L-arginine (a compound represented by formula II) or monomethylsilanetriol of the L-argninine and, e.g. Transcutol (R) (monomethyl ether of diethylene glycol),α-bisabolol, oleic acid or urea is cited as an additive and an excipient contained together therewith.
