PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device where an operating environment of an external interface section can be enhanced even when a device body is installed on a floor or on a wall by connecting the device body to the external interface section via a turnable connection section and to provide a method for connecting the external interface to the electronic device. SOLUTION: A main body 2 of an STB(set-top box) 1 is equipped with a lower side turning section case 5a and an upper side turning section case 5b that clamps a connected part of an external interface section 6 and a projection section 5c that is attached to the lower side turning section case 5a, and the external interface section 6 is equipped with a semi-cylindrical section 6c that has a shape clamped by the upper side turning section case 5b and the lower side turning section case 5a and with a recessed groove 6e that is attached to both end faces 6a of the semi-cylindrical part 6c and has a shape with which the projection 5c is engaged.
