PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a defective image and defective carrying by preventing the defective separation of a transfer material from a photoreceptor after transferring a toner image. SOLUTION: An image area R- on the surface of a photoreceptor drum 1 is electrostatically charged with a negative polarity by applying an electrostatic charging voltage on a transfer roller 2 by an electrostatic charging bias power source 2c. An electrostatic latent image is formed by an exposing means 3, and toner whose polarity is negative is stuck to the electrostatic latent image by the developing roller 4a of a developing device so as to develop the latent image as a toner image. By applying a transfer voltage whose polarity is positive on a transfer roller 7, the toner image is transferred to the surface of the transfer material P. A part corresponding to the leading margin Pa of the transfer material P on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 is controlled by a control means 20 so that the part may become a positive- charged area R+. As for the leading margin Pa of the transfer material P having the rear side where the positive charge is applied by the transfer roller 7, a repulsive force works between the leading margin Pa and the positive area R+, then, the margin Pa is satisfactorily separated from the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1. |
