PURPOSE: A broadcasting receiver and a control method of the same are provided to use a memory effectively by operating an optimum buffer size according to the bit rate of transport stream data and changing a buffer region according to the operation result. CONSTITUTION: A receiving unit(12) receives multiplexed transport stream data. A memory(14) records the transport stream data received in the receiving unit(12). A process unit(13) determines an optimum buffer size in response to a bit rate of the transport stream data and secures a memory region of the determined size. A demultiplexer(15) separates a transport packet by using the memory region secured in the process unit(13).
