PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fully eliminate dust mist adhering to a sensor even if a flowmeter is not removed and maintain the measurement accuracy of the flowmeter, reduce maintenance labor, apply to a thermal flowmeter, and measure the mass flow rate of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: The cleaning device is provided with a wiper body 19 that slides on the surface of a sensor part at the outer periphery of a sensor part 17 of a flowmeter for exhaust gas where a sensor part is provided in the channel of an exhaust gas 1, a wiper body drive mechanism 21 for sliding the wiper body along the surface of the sensor part at the base part of the sensor part, and a cover body 29 that is driven by a cover body drive mechanism 25 being provided at the base part of the sensor part, is accommodated at the base part side of the sensor part when measuring a flow rate, but covers at least the upstream side of the exhaust gas of the sensor part when no measurement is made.
