PURPOSE: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is superior in heavy load discharge characteristic, reduced in cost and excellent in safety. CONSTITUTION: In this nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery constituted by overlapping a negative electrode 1 containing a negative electrode active material and a positive electrode 2 containing a positive electrode active material via a separator 3 and injecting nonaqueous electrolyte, spinel-based manganese compound metal oxide is used as the positive electrode material and paper of 15 to 60 μm thick and 1 to 10 second/100 cc in air permeability is used as the separator 3. By using paper without no risk of fusion/outflow as a material of the separator 3, excellent heat resistance and battery characteristic can be imparted. By using the spinel-based manganese compound metal oxide as the positive electrode active material, a heavy load discharge characteristic can be improved. |
