<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal which has telephone functions and is so miniaturized that the distance between a microphone and a loudspeaker approximately match with that between an ear and the mouth of a user. SOLUTION: The user uses this portable information terminal as a portable telephone set, and when originating a call, the user turns an enclosure 2 around the axial line of a turning support shaft 5 by 180 deg.C to bring a loudspeaker 3 and a microphone 4 close to his ear and mouth. In this state, a fixing hole 9 formed in the turning support shaft 5 and a projection provided in the enclosure 1 are fitted to each other, and software is automatically switched to the state allowing use of the terminal as a portable telephone set by generation of an electrical signal, and an operation face 6 and a display face 7 are switched to the longitudinal display state. Then, speech is performed by dialing with liquid crystal display dial buttons on the operation face 6.</p> |
