<p>PURPOSE: A light splitter is provided having spectral selectivity and having two independent reflection and transmission layer systems which divide white light into red, green and blue color components or recouples red, green and blue color components into white light, and which independently select colors. CONSTITUTION: Layer systems (5, 7) are applied on a transparent carrier or embedded in the carrier. At least one of the layer systems (5, 7) contains a layer of a material having a rather low refractive index and at least one layer of a material having a rather high refractive index. The low refractive index ranges NLS is larger or equal to (1.7) and smaller or equal to (2.1). Thereby, difference in the effect of the layer systems for different polarized light is decreased.</p> |
