PURPOSE: A data processing system is provided to increase the number of universal register of a CPU by utilizing efficiently properties of existing software. CONSTITUTION: Register assignment information for assigning a register is divided into two parts. The divided parts are arranged as basic units of command codes. A control portion(CONT) assumes the predetermined register assignment information and performs a register selection operation by omitting one command code. The omitting command codes are omitted by using only an assigned universal register. Accordingly, a processing speed is not reduced since the number of command code is not increased. |
