INFORMATION PROCESSOR, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND MEDIUM

PURPOSE: Disclosed is information processor and information processing method by which required processing is executed by simple operation using a jog dial though a conventional operating system repeats complicated operation until a required application program is selected and started by a user on a task bar provided with a start menu button and to obtain a medium. CONSTITUTION: A jog dial correspondence type application declares that the application itself is a jog dial correspondence type to a jog dial monitoring program(54C). Therefore, the program(54C) adds the application software to a list of jog dial correspondence software. Then the program(54C) switches the display of the jog dial menu to a display inherent in the application itself and informs a user of the application as a jog dial guide. The jog dial correspondence application informs the program(54C) of the explanation of jog dial operation in a current state by character strings.
