PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency in the erasure of image data with an image processor such as digital camera. SOLUTION: The plural categories of a most significant hierarchy are displayed on a display (214a) and when any one of these categories (photograph information) is selected, plural categories belonging to that category are displayed on the display (214b). When one of these categories (photographing mode) is selected, plural categories belonging to that category are displayed on the display (214c). When any one of these category (portrait) is selected, image data belonging to that category are specified on the basis of additional data (data corresponding to the category) in a recording medium and an index image corresponding to these image data is displayed on the display (214d and 214e). Then, the index image is selected by a user and image data corresponding to the selected index image are erased from the recording medium.
