Protein kinases of the family called CIV1 are characterised by a lack of the motif GxGx(Y/F)GxV, wherein x represents any amino acid; and by a non-cycline-dependent Cdk-activating kinase (CAK) activity. The inhibitors of the protein-kinases of this family can be used as fungicides.
