PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple film connection releasing unit capable of surely separating a leader from photographic film. SOLUTION: In this film connection releasing unit 10 for releasing connection between the leader L and the negative film 1, 1st and 2nd insertion holes are formed along in an advancing direction on the leader L. In the case of connecting the film 1, the end of the film 1 is inserted in the 2nd insertion hole from the front surface of the leader L so as to move to the back surface thereof and further the end of the film 1 is inserted in the 1st insertion hole and moved from the back surface to the front surface thereof, and a projection piece provided to cross the 1st insertion hole is engaged in an engaging hole at the end of the film 1, so that the film 1 is connected. The unit is equipped with a 1st releasing member 13 by which the film 1 inserted in the 1st insertion hole from the front surface and a 2nd releasing member by which the film 1 sagged by the member 13 is inserted in the 2nd insertion hole from the back surface, and the projection piece inserted in the engaging hole of the film 1 is separated from the film 1 by the 2nd releasing member.
