PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the position information retrieval system of a portable telephone for outputting the accurate position of the portable telephone to, an external device. SOLUTION: Base station information used at the time of the position registration, call origination, call termination and movement during communication of mobile equipment is outputted from an exchange 100 to the external device 108 as position information, a call is terminated to the portable telephone 106 without ringing by a request from the external device 108 and the position of the portable telephone 106 is outputted. Also, at the time of the non-ringing call termination, when the portable telephone 106 is out of a service area, the position information stored inside the storage device of the exchange 100 is outputted to the external device 108 together with the registration time.
