PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make even the quantities of light rays outputted from a rod lens array by making uniform the light reflectivity distributions on the surfaces of chips on which light emitting arrays are formed. SOLUTION: In a light emitting element array device which is composed of a plurality of chips on which light emitting elements are one-dimensionally arranged, metallic wiring is formed, and the light rays from the light emitting elements are led out through a rod lens array; a low-reflectance film is provided on a high-reflectance area when the reflectance is not uniformly distributed on the surfaces of the chips. The low-reflectance film can be constituted of a light absorbing film 44.
