<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize increment in traffic by determining the transmission/non- transmission of a communication packet and the communication format of each communication packet state to be communicated, on the basis of port information corresponding to a port for transmitting the communication packet. SOLUTION: When a receiving port number '2' and a transmitting port number '3' are different from each other, although a switching control part 4-2 transfers a unicast packet to a transmitting port 4-15, if when the receiving port number and the transmitting port number are equal, a received packet is discarded in a switching hub 4-1. When a unicast packet is received by a port 4-13 e.g. a switching control part 4-2 retrieves an address table from a transmitted MAC address included in the packet, determines a transmitting port number and then transfers the packet to the transmitting port, independently of matching/non-matching between the receiving port number and the transmitting port number.</p> |
