PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a drive device for optical record medium using a three- beam-type optical pickup even when tracking servo operates stably even if there are obstacles in an information track on an optical record medium. SOLUTION: The drive device for optical record medium is provided with an optical pickup 2 for reading information from an information track on an optical record medium, a tracking error signal generation means for generating a tracking error signal from the information being read from the optical pickup, and a tracking control means for allowing the optical pickup 2 to follow the information track on the optical record medium based on the tracking error signal being generated from the tracking error signal generation means. In this case, the level of the disturbance of the tracking error signal caused by an obstacle existing at the optical record medium is detected, a correction signal according to the size of the disturbance is generated, and the behavior of the tracking control signal is limited by the correction signal.
