A method for measuring a substance wherein a sample is prepared and detected by the photothermal converting detection method in a capillary of a microchip. According to this method, hemoglobin, ALP, etc. in a sample originating in biological components can be conveniently quantitated in a short period of time from a sample originating in biological components in a trace amount. In addition, the measurement is associated with the formation of only a small amount of waste. Since long-wavelength laser is employed as the excitation light, a photothermal converting detection device can be economically constructed and thus the measurement can be effected at a low cost. Owing to these characteristics, the above method is appropriately applicable to POC analysis and the like. By using this method, further, even a blood sample showing chylification can be conveniently measured by the photothermal converting detection method. A measurement reagent which makes it possible to stably quantitate hemoglobin, ALP, etc. in a sample originating in biological components in a trace amount by the photothermal converting detection method.
|
