The electromagnetic converters (1) includes an electromagnetic drive (3) arranged in a casing (2), which comprises at least one coil (4), a drive magnet (5), and an armature arrangement (6). A membrane arrangement is fastened in the casing, which is fastened mechanically to the armature arrangement (6), to convert movements of the armature arrangement into sound signals. The membrane arrangement includes two separate, identically formed membranes (7, 7') which are arranged on opposite sides of the drive, and which are driven in such way, that a total mechanical pulse caused through the movement of the driven or driving parts is minimised. Both membranes are preferably arranged symmetrically with respect to the drive.
