The shock absorber comprises a housing with an internal chamber (14) containing damping fluid in which a piston rod (8) and piston (10) can move. Two damping devices damp the movement of the piston into and out of the chamber. Controls for these are fitted on the piston rod. An Independent claim is included for a telescopic fork containing the shock absorber.
