The operating method has an electronic control stage coupled to the stepping motor (1), for reducing resonance during operation of the latter, by altering the angle of the circulating current vector of the stator field in opposition to the variation in the load angle caused by the resonance. A rev- and/or current-dependent correction factor.is provided for correction of the additional value used for alteration of the vector angle.
