PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oriented polyester resin foamed sheet having sufficient rigidity for forming a deverage container and the like. SOLUTION: A monoaxially oriented or biaxially oriented foamed sheet is provided with a density less than 700 kg/m3 and a crystallization ratio not increasing the crystallinity to 15% or more even when being heated at 120 deg.C for 5 minutes and usable for the manufacture of a beverage container or a food container. In that case, an aliphatic polyester resin or a 1-10 wt.% polyamide can be mixed with an aromatic polyester resin used for the manufacture of a foamed sheet for the purpose of providing the resin with biodegradability and/or the possibility of use as a compost.
