PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove burrs and swollen parts with a simple facility without degrading the welding accuracy by blowing a compressed air jet to a peripheral edge of a welded part within a plane including the welded part in the red and hot condition as soon as works to be welded are upset. SOLUTION: Works A, B are installed on electrodes 2, 4 to which left and right lower clamps 6, 8 are tightened so that a welding surface C forms a center of the left and right lower electrodes 2 and 4, left and right upper clamps 5, 7 to which left and right upper electrodes 1, 3 are tightened are lowered to clamp and energize the works A, B to the electrodes 1, 2 and the electrodes 3, 4, and the works A, B are butt-welded by the flash-butt welding method. When the welding upset process is started, burrs and swollen parts of the welding surface C and upper and lower and forward and rear parts are red due to the high temperature, and softened. The air is ejected toward the burrs and swollen parts from forward and side air ejection ports 9, 10.
