PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly transfer a tray wrapped with a film by a wrapping mechanism without stopping the movement of the tray by a discharge mechanism. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes a wrapping mechanism for stretching a film, covering a tray, which is an article, with the stretched film from the upper side of the tray and folding the peripheral portion of the film into the underside of the bottom face of the tray to perform wrapping, a transfer mechanism 14 provided with a plurality of rollers 32-36 for transfering the tray in a discharging direction upon receipt of the tray wrapped by the wrapping mechanism and moved, a rotary drive mechanism for forcibly driving all of the plural rollers provided in the transfer mechanism, and a heater 16 for heating the folded peripheral portion of the film covering the tray transferred by the transfer mechanism so as to be welded under heating. Further, the rotary drive mechanism is provided with endless belts 61 passed around the rollers 33, 34 to transfer the article.
