PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain overall length small and to set the maximum stroke length large even in case of using a lock mechanism,. SOLUTION: A guide cylinder 42 of a lock mechanism 41 is fixed and provided on an inner periphery on the lower end side of an inside cylinder 32, and a stopper cylinder 43 is inserted and provided on the inner peripheral side of this guide cylinder 42 free to slide. Additionally, an engagement plate 45 is integrally provided on the lower end side of a rod 33. Thereafter, a hydraulic shock absorber is left in an inverted state with the upper end side of the rod 33 directed downward at the time of holding the rod 33 in a contracted state in the inside cylinder 32 by the lock mechanism 41. Consequently, the stopper cylinder 43 is moved downward along the guide cylinder 42 by its dead weight and positioned in the axial direction by this guide cylinder 42. Thereafter, the engagement plate 45 is engaged with the stopper cylinder 43 by relatively rotating the engagement plate 45 with the inside cylinder 32 in this state by inserting the engagement plate 45 in the stopper cylinder 43 with the rod 33. |
